Guernsey , Channel Islands

Founder and Director
Careers Events Limited
I founded Careers Events in 2011 with a view to providing innovation and a refreshing attitude to the Careers industry. Working across the Channel Islands and the UK, our team provides guidance, psychometrics and consultancy to schools, individuals and organisations. I enjoy working with both young people and business clients as well as advising schools on careers programmes. Careers Events also produces ground-breaking careers apps and software.
Working Adviser
Since late 2013, I have been busy developing a platform which will allow Careers Professionals to network and communicate effectively as the industry evolves. This long process has finally come to fruition and we are delighted with the application as it hits its beta phase.
Careers Adviser and Consultant
Various Schools
During the last few years I have enjoyed a range of roles supporting individuals in schools and organisations both in the Channel Islands and the UK. I enjoyed a fulfilling stint as head of careers at a London School as well delivering psychometric programmes to a number of independent schools and state schools.
News and Sports Journalist
Various Publications
An enjoyable few years working as a news and sports journalist at various publications in the North of England. Work ranged from court reporting to business and sports desk news.

MA in Careers
University of Reading
Very rewarding and enjoyable period which allowed me to go deep into Careers theories and concepts.
PG Diploma in Careers and QCG
University of Reading
This course gave me an excellent grounding in the industry and also helped to hone my guidance and delivery skills. Studying at a research-based university also allowed a deeper exploration of careers theory.
Psychometric Testing Competence Certification
British Psychological Society
This qualification has allowed me to train and gain expertise in a number of powerful psychometric tools such as MBTI, Morrisby, EQ-i 2.0 (and EQ-i 360), Saville Recruitment, Strong, Neo-PI, TKI and Leadership Judgement Indicator (LJI).
NCTJ Qualification in Journalism
The Sheffield College
This full-time course paved the way for my entry into newspaper journalism. The course covered a range of skills from media law, theory, shorthand and reporting.

Additional Information

Through Careers Events, my work also includes providing industry testing for individuals in Guernsey as well as admissions tests for Medicine (UKCAT) and Law (LNAT).

Away from work, I am a huge sports fan with a particular fondness for Cricket and Rugby League. As I travel so much, I often find solace by hunting out a local cinema and catching a movie.

Anthony's support and consultancy has transformed the school's approach to Careers Education. He has provided an insight into ways we can effectively guide and support our girls at all levels of ability and support requirements.
