St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College Careers adviser Tim Shehu celebrated winning the 8th Careers Champion award with a special presentation from colleagues and friends recently.
Tim’s impact at the college earned him multiple nominations from colleagues and former students who were keen to spread the word about the fantastic careers work he has undertaken over recent years. Principal Elaine Taylor (pictured) presented the trophy to Tim, who also collected hundreds of pounds worth of prizes from sponsors Prospects Education, The Morrisby Organisation and May Student Events.
“Tim has been the Careers adviser at St Charles for two years and in that time he has made a significant impact on the progression of our young people,” said Ms Taylor. “He is constantly exploring ways of introducing students to the many different pathways and opportunities that are available to them so that they can make informed choices about their future. The staff and students really appreciate his positive contributions and how he is willing to give so much time and effort to support them.”
The other prize winning finalists were: Alison Grieves (Sunderland University, runner-up), Gill Appleby (Whalley Range 11-18 High School, third place), Suzanne Dickinson (York St John University), Sang Townsley (De Montfort University).
The 9th Careers Champion award will take place in September 2018. Details of previous winners are available here
