Tomorrow’s Engineers launches two new resources for young people, teachers and advisers (Total Professions)
To coincide with Tomorrow’s Engineers Week (3-7th November) two new resources have been launched aimed to provide advice and guidance at both apprenticeship and graduate routes into the profession. Total Professions provides the information along with links to the Tomorrow’s Engineers website.
Students encouraged to ‘tick the box’ during National Care Leavers Week (UCAS)
Young people in or leaving care who are applying to study at university are being encouraged by UCAS to tick the box on their application forms that can open the door to extra financial support and year-round accommodation. The UCAS website gives more information on their ‘Tick the Box’ campaign which was run recently alongside Nation Care Leavers Week.
Student loans review ‘unnecessary’, says government (BBC)
The government has refused to hold an “urgent” review of the student finance system, requested by The Commons Business, Innovation and Skills (Bis) Committee. Despite financial predications which warn of £330bn in loan debts by 2044, the government insists there is “no immediate pressure” on the system. The BBC takes up the story.
