I am an Employability Adviser and the Media and Communications Lead for Brighton & Hove’s Youth Employability Service. My role involves supporting NEET young people aged 16 – 19 to access education, employment and training opportunities, as well as managing and developing all of our services social media channels.
Brighton & Hove City Council’s Youth Employability Service provides free information, advice and guidance to all young people who are aged 16 – 19 (or up to the age of 25 if the young person holds a statement of Special Education Needs), resident in Brighton & Hove, and not in education, employment or training.
The service is staffed by a team of qualified careers advisers, who are available both through open drop in sessions and 1:1 appointments. Our advisers are able to offer full careers guidance, as well as practical support such as CV writing, interview practise, help with job search and finding appropriate education and training opportunities.
The service has it’s own Youth Employability Panel, which is made up of a group of service users who meet on a monthly basis to give their feedback, come up with new ideas and help to shape the service and provision for young unemployed people in Brighton & Hove in general.
