Currently working as the Progression and Employability Adviser at Preston’s College. Delivering impartial careers guidance through one to ones, group sessions and careers education programmes. Working with a broad range of young people of all abilities to help them navigate and understand the complex landscape of modern careers education designed to help them achieve their educational and employment goals. Providing support to Student Managers and curriculum staff in implementing effective careers education and guidance by providing appropriate training.
In addition to supporting Preston’s College 16 to 18 cohorts I also provide CEIAG to our adult higher education learners and contribute significantly to the college’s mission of making our students the most employable through the development and delivery of career management programmes.
Responsible for overseeing the UCAS application process for all Preston’s College students.
Prior to this I have worked as a Careers Adviser on various projects including the All Age National Career Service, delivering the service in organisations facing redundancy, job centres, colleges and also to 18 and 19 year old’s in custody. I also worked on The Families Programme, working individually with people of all age groups and with differing social and educational needs. I provide careers and skills advice as well as general guidance, all tailored to personal needs and designed to help individuals achieve their educational and employment goals. I also have experience of mentoring secondary age school children who have been excluded from mainstream education.
