Big changes have been taking place to Working Adviser behind the scenes and we are delighted to be able to introduce these to you. Old and new members alike, these are some of our most recent changes, and additions, to the site that you should be aware of in order to get the most out of what it has to offer.
New pages – Jobs/Events/Resources
It can be really hard to keep track of what is happening in the world of careers, so we are giving you a helping hand. Our new pages will feature careers jobs, events and resources from our sponsor partners as well as a useful ‘round up’ post in each category that will draw together some of the other things that are going on.
New general discussion group
Old members will notice that our forums have disappeared. Don’t worry, there is still a way to ask questions and exchange information with the wider community as we have introduced a new ‘General Discussion’ group that everyone can join and contribute too. Don’t forget that specialist groups also exist for more focused discussions and networking.
More interactivity
We want it to be as easy as possible for you to be updated with changes as they happen. If you spot an organisation that particularly interests you then ‘favourite’ their page and you can be kept up to date by email, on a daily or weekly basis, to any new jobs, events or resources that they add to their page.
Social media is very important to us at Working Adviser as we are all about sharing information. So if you see a feature that you think would be of interest to your own networks – be it a blog post, a new job, event or resource – then please use the social media buttons to share it on Twitter, Facebook or Google+.
More control
As a member, you decide how frequently you want to hear from us. If any changes are made to the organisation pages that you have favourited, or if new discussions are added to groups that you have joined than you will be able to receive email alerts about this. As a default, this information will arrive all together in one daily email but you can go Settings/Email if you would like to change this. (Find ‘Settings’ by hovering over your avatar in the top right of the screen).
If you are have further questions about the site and how to use it, then you will find a useful list of Q&As in our Help section, represented by the ? symbol, underneath your avatar. Bear in mind that Working Adviser is very much a work in progress and we hope to be able to take on board any of your comments or suggestions. If there is anything you would like to let us know we can be contacted at [email protected]
